U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has removed Nestor Adiel Salamanca, a Mexican national, who was convicted of child molestation. Salamanca, aged 32, was transferred to the authorities in Mexico on March 31.
The District Court of Creek County Sapulpa, Oklahoma, had convicted Salamanca on February 11 for lewd molestation of a child under the age of 16. He received a sentence of 3.5 years with an additional 5 years suspended, pursuant to an agreement to self-deport.
"The removal of this egregious child sexual offender demonstrates our commitment to ensuring criminal aliens will not roam the streets of our communities, preying on our most vulnerable citizens," remarked Josh Johnson, acting Director of the ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Dallas Field Office. "Through collaboration with our law enforcement partners, we will ensure that sexual predators like this offender are promptly removed."
ICE officers detained Salamanca on February 14. An immigration judge then ordered his removal to Mexico on March 29.
The public is encouraged to report crimes or suspicious activity by contacting the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or by filling out the online tip form.
