U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the FBI have arrested Noareleslam Abdelrahman, a 27-year-old citizen of Egypt and Turkey, in Abingdon, Virginia. The arrest occurred during a targeted enforcement action.
"Noareleslam Abdelrahman was illegally present in Virginia in blatant and knowing violation of U.S. immigration laws," stated Patrick Divver, acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Washington, D.C. He added that ICE is committed to ensuring safety by arresting and removing individuals who undermine community safety and immigration law integrity.
Abdelrahman was initially apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol on June 23, 2023, after illegally entering the United States near Yuma, Arizona. He was served with a notice to appear before an immigration judge from the Department of Justice.
An immigration judge granted Abdelrahman an $8,000 bond on August 10, 2023. Following this, ICE released him from Eloy Federal Correctional Facility after he posted the bond. However, he violated his bond terms by relocating from New Jersey to Virginia without notifying the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
After his recent arrest, ICE canceled Abdelrahman's bond and issued a notice of custody determination. He remains in ICE custody.
The public can report crimes or suspicious activities by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE or completing an online tip form.
