U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended a Dominican national, Gregori Thomas Romero, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on February 1st. Romero, who was unlawfully present in the U.S., faces charges including assault to rape, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault on a family or household member, and strangulation suffocation.
"Gregori Thomas Romero is charged with horrifically victimizing a member of our community," said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston acting Field Office Director Patricia H. Hyde. Subsequently, the Boston Police Department arrested Romero on September 11, 2024, related to the aforementioned offenses. ICE Boston attempted to lodge a detainer, but Romero was released from custody prior to this action.
