Rep. Veronica Escobar, who represents Texas' 16th district in the U.S. Congress, recently addressed issues of legality, economic policies, and military casualties in a series of tweets. Escobar, who has been in office since 2019, replaced Beto O'Rourke and previously served on the El Paso County Commission. Here, Escobar's recent statements outline her stance on various topics.

On April 14, 2025, Escobar posted a tweet calling for the resignation of Director John Ratcliffe. She stated, "Director John Ratcliffe broke the law. He must resign."

The following day, April 15, 2025, Escobar tweeted about her concerns regarding former President Trump's trade and tariff policies. She pointed out, "74% of Americans believe that the wealthy will benefit from Trump's trade and tariff policies." She added, "Americans are seeing right through Republican lies about the economy and their budget."

In a tweet dated April 16, 2025, Escobar expressed her sorrow over a military accident. "I am saddened by the loss of two U.S. service members who were killed in yesterday's accident in Santa Teresa," she conveyed. Her thoughts were also with a third service member in serious condition and the families affected.

Veronica Escobar, as a committed public servant, has a background with the University of Texas, El Paso, where she obtained a BA. She was born in 1969 in El Paso, Texas, and continues to reside there with her family.
