U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Rene Alejandro Rosales-Vindel, a Honduran national, back to his home country where he is wanted for homicide. Rosales, 52, was removed from the United States on February 3 and handed over to Honduran authorities.
Patricia H. Hyde, acting Field Office Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston, stated: “Rene Alejandro Rosales-Vindel attempted to flee justice in his home country and hide out in the United States. Not only did he break our immigration laws, but he also assaulted a resident of Massachusetts. Now he is back in Honduras to answer the charges against him. We will not allow our New England communities to become safe havens for the world’s criminals. ICE Boston will continue to prioritize public safety by arresting and removing illegal alien offenders.”
Rosales was initially arrested by U.S. Border Patrol on March 28, 2014, after entering the U.S. illegally and was placed into immigration proceedings. He was released on May 5, 2014, after posting an immigration bond.
ICE Boston apprehended Rosales again on August 30, 2017, following his arrest for assault with a dangerous weapon. His bond was canceled at that time as immigration proceedings continued.
A Department of Justice immigration judge ordered Rosales' removal from the U.S. on October 11, 2017.
Despite being released under supervision on May 25, 2018, Rosales was convicted of assault with a dangerous weapon by Chelsea District Court just one day later.
He was re-arrested by ICE Boston on November 23, 2024, which led to the revocation of his supervised release order.
The public can report crimes or suspicious activities related to such cases by calling ICE's hotline or using their online tip form.
