The El Paso International Airport (EPIA) is throwing its support behind efforts to curb human trafficking by partnering with federal agencies to train those working at the airport to better-identify human trafficking incidents if they see them.

The airport has partnered with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of Transportation and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol to bring training to employees and contractors working at the airport.

The training will include those employed directly by EPIA, but will also be made available to airline and concession employees and to employees of the city. The training is intended to help participants to identify incidents of human trafficking.

The airport has committed to training and distributing information throughout 2020.
