U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recently facilitated the removal of Juan Jasso-Botello, a Mexican national sought in his home country for charges related to family violence. The process was completed on March 25 when Jasso-Botello, aged 44, was transferred from the Florence Detention Center in Arizona to Mexican authorities at the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales.

ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations in Phoenix highlighted the cooperation involved in this extradition. "The removal of Juan Jasso demonstrates the collaborative, whole of government approach that ICE supports in protecting the citizens of the U.S.," stated John Cantu, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Phoenix Field Office Director. He praised the joint efforts of officers and law enforcement partners who worked to ensure Jasso-Botello faced justice and was deported from the United States.

Jasso-Botello's entry into the U.S. was illegal, occurring near Newfield on November 1, 2024, leading to his arrest on the following day, November 2, 2024.
