U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has taken Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba into custody in State College, Pennsylvania. Henao-Cordoba, a 38-year-old Colombian national, is wanted by Panamanian authorities for the aggravated rape of a child. His arrest took place on March 14.

"The arrest of Julio Cesar Henao-Cordoba demonstrates ICE's dedication to protecting the most vulnerable members of our communities — our children," stated Brian McShane, acting Field Office Director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Philadelphia. "ICE remains steadfast in its mission to apprehend individuals accused of such heinous crimes, ensuring they are held accountable and that our neighborhoods remain safe for all."

Panama issued an arrest warrant for Henao on September 2, 2020, concerning the charge of aggravated rape of a minor.

Henao was initially arrested by U.S. Border Patrol near Eagle Pass, Texas, on May 26, 2022, after entering the United States without proper admission or parole from an immigration official. He was transferred to ICE custody the following day and enrolled in an alternatives to detention program before being paroled into the country.

On August 23, 2022, Henao reported to ICE in York, Pennsylvania. At that time, he received a notice to appear due to inadmissibility charges and was removed from the alternatives to detention program because his residence was outside its operational range.

Following his recent arrest in State College, Henao has been detained at Clinton County Correctional Facility located in McElhattan, Pennsylvania.

The public is encouraged to report any related information or suspicious activities by contacting the ICE Tip Line at 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or through their online tip form.
