Tomas Juarez-Santos, a 45-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to over a year in federal prison for illegally reentering the United States. This decision follows an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Juarez-Santos, who has been deported four times previously, was convicted twice before for illegal reentry after deportation, once in 2010 and again in 2019. He pleaded guilty to the latest charge in December 2024.
His arrest occurred on September 3, 2024, in Collier County on state criminal charges. At that time, authorities discovered he was unlawfully present in the country.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick L. Darcey prosecuted the case against Juarez-Santos.
