U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has successfully completed the removal of Christopher Anthony Frater, a Canadian citizen, to his home country. This action took place on March 7 as part of the Canadian Treaty Transfer program. Frater will now serve the remainder of his federal sentence in Canada for illicit trafficking of a controlled substance.

Frater had entered the United States around July 11, 2022, and subsequently violated the terms of his admission. He was convicted by the U.S. District Court in Nebraska on September 14, 2023, for possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine. The court sentenced him to 120 months in prison.

ICE located Frater while he was in custody at the Federal Correctional Institution in Ray Brook, New York. Based on his alien status and federal conviction, ICE determined that he was eligible for removal from the United States.

The removal process concluded at the Ogdensburg, New York – Prescott, Ontario port of entry where Frater was handed over to Canadian authorities.

Members of the public are encouraged to report crimes and suspicious activity by calling 866-347-2423 or completing ICE's online tip form. More information about ERO Buffalo's mission to preserve public safety can be found on X at @EROBuffalo.
