Rep. Veronica Escobar, representing Texas' 16th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019, expressed her views on various issues through a series of tweets dated March 10, 2025.
In one tweet, "Always reassuring when the man who has access to our private, personal information can’t prevent this app from crashing ", she commented on the technical reliability of an unnamed application and its implications for data security.
Another post addressed economic concerns: "We HAD a Biden economy. But since then, the Trump administration has tanked it with tariffs, eroded our reputation as a trade partner, and attacked our most important trade alliances. They've put 'America First' at the expense of our country’s economic health." In this tweet, Escobar criticized policies enacted under the Trump administration that she believes have adversely affected international trade relations and domestic economic stability.
Finally, in a statement regarding constitutional rights and political dissent, she tweeted: "The First Amendment doesn't only apply to those the President agrees with. Only dictators silence their dissenters this way. The arrest of Mahmoud Khalil is yet another Trump attack on the Constitution and more democratic backsliding in America." Here Escobar voiced her concerns over actions taken against individuals opposing governmental positions under Trump's leadership.
