U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported Jose Ramon Torres Cordova, a 47-year-old fugitive from Mexico, who was wanted for kidnapping and criminal association in Hermosillo, Mexico. The removal took place on March 7.

Torres was transported from the Eloy Detention Center to the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales, where he was handed over to Mexican authorities.

"The return of this fugitive to Mexico is a prime example of how ICE works closely with our international law enforcement partners to identify, locate and remove criminal aliens who are wanted in their country," stated John Cantu, Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Phoenix Field Office. "ICE prioritizes the arrest and removal of criminal alien fugitives. As a result, Torres will finally face justice."

Torres had previously entered the United States illegally at an unknown location and time before being removed in April 2019. He re-entered the U.S. later that month but was again removed in May 2019 after being apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol. During his illegal stay in the U.S., Torres faced arrests for disorderly conduct and assault.

The public is encouraged to report information about foreign fugitives or other criminal aliens residing illegally in the U.S. by contacting ICE through their Tip Line at 1 (866) 347-2423 or internationally at 001-1802-872-6199. Tips can also be submitted online via ICE’s tip form.
