ICE Seattle detains five illegal aliens with DUI convictions

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has apprehended five individuals in the Seattle area, all of whom are illegal aliens with convictions related to driving under the influence (DUI). The arrests took place over several weeks in different locations across Washington state.

On January 29, two citizens of Mexico were arrested. One was taken into custody in Mount Vernon, Washington, with DUI and felony DUI convictions from the Skagit County District Court. The other was arrested in Bellingham, Washington, also convicted by the same court for DUI.

Another arrest occurred on January 30 in Yakima, Washington. This individual, a citizen of Mexico, had convictions for DUI and leaving an accident scene.

A citizen of Guatemala was detained on February 14 in Bellevue, Washington. This person faced state charges for DUI.

The final arrest involved a Mexican citizen on February 19 in Lynden, Washington. This individual had multiple convictions: assault by King County Superior Court; assault by Whatcom County Superior Court; reckless driving by Whatcom County District Court; and separate arrests for DUI by both the Washington State Patrol and Federal Way Police Department.

All five individuals remain in ICE custody as they await removal proceedings.
