There were 1,107 white students enrolled in Ysleta ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 6% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ysleta ISD schools welcomed 36,183 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 3.1% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Ysleta ISD roughly covers schools within El Paso County and has a main office in El Paso.

Among the 51 schools in Ysleta ISD schools, Eastwood High School recorded the highest enrollment of white students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 95 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
