Enrollment Analysis: Asian students comprised 0.2% of Burnham Wood Charter School District schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were three Asian students enrolled in Burnham Wood Charter School District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 50% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Burnham Wood Charter School District schools welcomed 1,359 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Burnham Wood Charter School District roughly covers schools within El Paso County and has a main office in El Paso.

Among the three schools in Burnham Wood Charter School District schools, Howard Burnham Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of two students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
