Enrollment at Canutillo ISD schools slightly decreased compared to previous school year

There were 6,076 students enrolled in Canutillo ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, a slight decrease from the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.2% of them were boys, and 47.8% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 92.9% of the Canutillo ISD total enrollment.

Canutillo ISD roughly covers schools within El Paso County with its main office in El Paso.

Among the 10 schools in Canutillo ISD, Canutillo High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,642 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Texas is found to be one of the least-educated states in the U.S. A study from WalletHub ranked Texas 41st out of 50 states in terms of the quality of the educational system and how successful students were.

More than 5.4 million students are enrolled in public schools across Texas. Nearly one million of them live in rural areas where options for local public schools are few and far between.
