There were 1,931 students enrolled in Fabens ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.3% of them were boys, and 48.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 99.5% of the Fabens ISD total enrollment.

Fabens ISD roughly covers schools within El Paso County with its main office in Fabens.

Among the four schools in Fabens ISD, Fabens High School recorded the highest enrollment of 623 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
