SAN ELIZARIO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT: Seeking Additional TEA Waivers and Athletic Update

Schoolnews

San Elizario Independent School District issued the following announcement on Oct. 7.

San Elizario ISD Seeking Additional TEA Waivers and Athletic Update. Read newsletter here: https://www.smore.com/317ads

It is my hope you are all doing well and staying safe. I miss seeing all our students in person but I am thankful we continue to do our best for children in our district. During this stressful and out of the ordinary period in education, everyone has had to make adjustments to the delivery of services to our students. A lot of decisions have had to made to only be changed then again. Our flexibility and ability to adjust has been tested almost on a daily basis. Via this update, I am advising once again of yet another possible change pending Board of Trustee approval on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. We will be submitting additional TEA waivers for the Board’s consideration and for TEA’s approval. Another change is the modification to allowing spectators at athletic events. There will be limited access to allow only a Senior Night parent evening.

The request for TEA waivers will temporarily pause the phase in of all of our students whose parents have selected for them to return to in person instruction. We will continue with the students that have already been phased in and not add anymore students at this time.

Wear your mask, social distance, and wash your hands. We all need to do this consistently for everyone’s wellbeing.

San Elizario ISD Community, thank you once again for everything you do and your patience. We are in this together to better serve and improve the lives of our children in San Elizario.
