Representative Veronica Escobar, a Democratic congresswoman from Texas, posted a series of messages on her social media account in early September 2025 addressing immigration reform and criticizing former President Donald Trump’s policies.

On September 2, 2025, Escobar wrote: “While Trump destroys our economy, separates families and dehumanizes immigrants, I will continue to push for the Dignity Act of 2025, the only bipartisan, comprehensive immigration reform bill in Congress.” The post highlights her continued advocacy for the Dignity Act of 2025 as a legislative solution for immigration issues.

The following day, Escobar urged further action in another post dated September 3, 2025: “Wait for two more Republicans to join us. Release the files.”

Later that same day, she shared testimony from an unnamed survivor: “One of the survivors JUST said ‘I would like Donald J. Trump and every person in America and around the world to humanize us, to see us for who we are and to hear us for what we have to say. There is no hoax.'”

Veronica Escobar has held her congressional seat since first being elected in 2018. She won re-election against Irene Armendariz-Jackson in three consecutive general elections—2020, 2022, and 2024—with margins ranging from approximately 59% to nearly 65% of the vote. In her initial victory in 2018, she defeated Rick Seeberger with over two-thirds of the vote.
