U.S. Representative Veronica Escobar, who serves Texas’s 16th congressional district, posted a series of statements on May 12, 2026, highlighting the endorsement of her immigration reform legislation, the Dignity Act, by the Problem Solvers Caucus.

In her first tweet, Escobar stated, “Our immigration system has been broken for over 40 years. Families, businesses, and entire communities live with that sober reality every day. That’s why this endorsement from @ProbSolveCaucus on my legislation, the Dignity Act, matters.” (May 12, 2026).

She followed with appreciation for the support received: “I’m grateful for their endorsement as we continue moving immigration reform forward. The Dignity Act is a solution — for our economy, our national security and our future — and there is an urgent need for this reform right now.” (May 12, 2026).

Escobar further noted bipartisan backing: “Their support demonstrates the growing bipartisan recognition that the status quo is failing our country and that the Dignity Act is the only serious effort in Congress to fix it with humanity, accountability, and real solutions.” (May 12, 2026).

Veronica Escobar has represented Texas’s 16th district in Congress since replacing Beto O’Rourke in 2019. Before her tenure in Congress, she served on the El Paso County Commission from 2007 to 2011. Escobar has consistently won re-election against Irene Armendariz-Jackson in recent cycles—securing victories in both the 2020 and 2022 general elections with more than half of the vote each time—and previously defeated Rick Seeberger in her initial congressional race in 2018.

The Problem Solvers Caucus is known for its bipartisan membership and seeks consensus-driven legislative solutions. Escobar’s focus on bipartisan support for her Dignity Act aligns with broader efforts to address longstanding challenges within U.S. immigration policy.
