Rep. Veronica Escobar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 16th district, shared her views on recent political developments through a series of tweets. The posts express her concerns about legislative actions and their implications for the American public.

On June 2, 2025, Rep. Escobar criticized Russell Vought, accusing him of dishonesty regarding a particular bill. She stated: “Russell Vought had no shame or second thoughts about lying to the American people about this bill.” She further alleged that there is an effort to mislead the public due to the bill’s unpopularity: “It’s because they know it’s unpopular and they’re hoping Americans are not informed.”

In a tweet posted on June 3, 2025, she criticized Republican lawmakers for passing a budget bill hastily without proper consideration: “Republicans were so eager to cut your healthcare and give billionaires the biggest tax cut in American history that they didn’t even fully read the devastating budget bill they passed in the middle of the night.” She concluded with a pointed remark about those responsible for these decisions: “America, these are the people in charge.”

Later that day, she tweeted simply “Fixed it!”, accompanied by a link.

Veronica Escobar has been serving as a U.S. Congress member since 2019 after replacing Beto O’Rourke. Born in El Paso, Texas in 1969, she previously served on the El Paso County Commission from 2007 to 2011.
