Representative Veronica Escobar, serving in the U.S. Congress from Texas’ 16th District, has made public remarks about President Trump’s 100 days in office through a series of tweets. Her statement bring forward statistics on the current administration’s performance in various essential areas.

On April 28, 2025, Escobar tweeted that Trump has almost reached 100 days into his presidency, but the country continues to wait for him to fulfill his promise to lower inflation starting on “day one”. She highlighted that currently, “only 35% of Americans approve of his handling of inflation.” Escobar’s observations were linked to a report here.

Escobar further highlighted other approval ratings in another tweet on the same day, noting the President’s performance as seen by the American public. According to Escobar, “He only has 45% approval on immigration. He only has 39% approval on the economy. He only has 39% approval on foreign affairs. He only has 35% approval on inflation. In an additional tweet made the same day, Escobar cited Trump’s overall approval rating. She stated, “ICYMI: At just 41%, Trump has the lowest approval rating for a president’s first 100 days in office going back decades to President Eisenhower in the 1950s.” This comment was further corroborated by a link to additional data here.

Veronica Escobar has been serving in Congress since 2019, succeeding Beto O’Rourke. Her political career also includes being a part of the El Paso County Commission between 2007 and 2011. Born in El Paso, Texas, in 1969, Escobar has lived there for most of her life and is an alumna of the University of Texas, El Paso.
