However, she pointed out what she considered as shortcomings by stating “pathetic admissions they didn’t read their bill.”

Later that day, Escobar commented on law enforcement strategies employed by former President Donald Trump and Stephen Miller. She argued that their claims of targeting hardened criminals were misleading. Instead, she stated “they’re raiding birthday parties,” implying a misalignment between their rhetoric and actions.

On June 6, 2025, Escobar referenced the U.S. Constitution while addressing an issue related to freedom of religion. She emphasized its importance by noting it is part of the First Amendment and criticized certain actions as both racist and disrespectful to this foundational document. Her tweet expressed concern over such practices “dishonors the ‘founding document’ you referenced.”

Veronica Escobar has been serving in Congress since 2019 after replacing Beto O’Rourke. Born in El Paso, Texas in 1969, she continues to reside there today.
