UTEP’s golfer Teeter will participate in his second consecutive NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Regionals, which will take place at the Gallery Golf Club in Marana, Arizona from May 18 to May 20.

This marks a significant achievement for UTEP, as Teeter becomes the first Miner since Charles Corner to qualify for back-to-back NCAA Regionals. Corner last advanced to the NCAA Championships in 2018, with Chris Baryla being the previous Miner to do so in 2004.

Teeter enters the Marana Regional as the second seed, behind Nebraska’s Rudy Sautron. Other top seeds include LMU’s Trevor Algya, Missouri’s Veikka Viskari, and NM State’s Javier Delgadillo. Ranked No. 137 in recent ScoreBoard polls, Teeter leads his team with a stroke average of 70.3 this season.

Throughout the year, Teeter has earned four Conference USA Golfer of the Week honors and six overall during his career—both program records. He has competed in all twelve tournaments this season and was UTEP’s top finisher in nine of them. His results include six top-10 finishes and three within the top five.

At the Conference USA Championship stroke play event, Teeter tied for second place after scoring nine-under-par over three rounds and recorded a career-low round of 63—just one shot shy of tying the course record. His performance contributed to UTEP finishing first at thirty-one under par during stroke play before advancing through match play as top seed.

The upcoming regional offers an opportunity for Teeter to join previous Miners who have reached national competition levels. The NCAA Golf Championship is scheduled for May 29-June 3 at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.
