Rep. Veronica Escobar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Texas’ 16th district, recently shared her perspectives on social media regarding state and national issues. Her tweets highlighted concerns about election integrity investigations and immigration enforcement practices.

On June 9, 2025, Rep. Escobar expressed her thoughts on the State of Texas’s efforts to investigate voter fraud in the 2024 election. She remarked “I’m grateful the State of Texas invested so much time and energy to find that 0.0003% of ballots cast in the 2024 election are *potential* non-citizens.” In her post, she criticized Republicans for allegedly misleading Americans regardless of facts or evidence.

Later that day, Rep. Escobar commented on recent directives concerning immigration enforcement. She stated “Last month, Stephen Miller and Kristi Noem – frustrated that the numbers of arrests and deportations of undocumented immigrants were ‘too low’ – tore into ICE officials to start arresting 3,000 immigrants per day, regardless of who they are.” This tweet addressed pressures put on Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by prominent political figures.

In a subsequent tweet posted almost simultaneously, Rep. Escobar noted changes within ICE operations: “So despite threats, strong-arming, and lofty words from Miller, what’s happened? ICE has started to ramp up arrests of undocumented immigrants, regardless of whether or not they had criminal records.”

Veronica Escobar has been an influential voice since replacing Beto O’Rourke in Congress in 2019. Before her congressional service, she was a member of the El Paso County Commission from 2007 to 2011.
