Rep. Veronica Escobar, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Texas' 16th district, has made recent statements on social media as she highlights political concerns surrounding immigration enforcement, public health funding, and labor rights.

On March 27, 2025, Escobar criticized recent activities related to immigration enforcement as exceeding authoritative limits. She remarked, "This is now a pattern. And this isn’t immigration enforcement. This is authoritarianism."

In another statement made later the same day, Escobar addressed budget reductions affecting public health. She expressed her concerns, stating, "Despite ongoing measles outbreaks, the Trump administration is slashing budgets and staffing for the very agency that protects communities from deadly diseases. Trump is making Americans sicker and poorer to give tax breaks to billionaires."

Furthermore, on March 28, 2025, Escobar shared her views on labor rights and the importance of unions. She pointed out the historical contributions of unions and the potential impact on workers when their influence is undermined. According to Escobar, "Unions gave us the 40-hour workweek, labor protections, basic benefits, safer workplaces, and the leverage working Americans needed. Threatening unions threatens millions of workers across the country – all to protect billionaires and big corporations’ profits."
