On March 24, 2025, Rep. Escobar expressed criticism of the president's handling of accountability issues in a tweet stating: "The president knew. He was just trolling." She argued that the president and his Secretary of Defense were not taking responsibility for their actions, calling for immediate termination of the Secretary.

On March 26, 2025, Escobar addressed a decision made by a District Attorney regarding capital punishment: "The choice made by our District Attorney not to pursue the death penalty was no doubt a complicated one..." She attributed this decision to delays and scandals caused by an incompetent predecessor who resigned in disgrace.
