U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has detained Javier Duran Torres, a 47-year-old Mexican national, in San Diego on February 27. This arrest follows his history of criminal offenses related to driving under the influence (DUI).

Duran was initially apprehended by the California Highway Patrol on March 9, 2022, for DUI. He was subsequently convicted by the Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Diego, on July 9, 2022. The conviction included an enhancement for causing great bodily injury to a child.

On February 21, Duran faced another arrest by the San Diego Sheriff's Office for a separate DUI offense. He is currently held in ICE custody and awaits removal proceedings.

The public is encouraged to report crimes and suspicious activities by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or using the online tip form.
