El Paso, Texas—Continuing its commitment to sound governance and fiscal management, the City of El Paso has secured a clean audit opinion—no findings—from Moss Adams, an independent external auditor, for the eighth consecutive year for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).
The ACFR provides a comprehensive overview of the City's financial activities in the preceding fiscal year, the report is accessible online at www.ElPasoTexas.gov/Office-of-the-Comptroller/ .
Also available online is the City's Popular Annual Financial Reporting (PAFR), which serves as a user-friendly document designed to present the financial position, achievements, and activities of the governmental entity for the year, catering to individuals without a traditional financial background.
Interim City Manager Cary Westin expressed pride in the clean financial audit, attributing the accomplishment to the systems and processes the City has implemented over the past several years to maintain strong internal and budgetary controls.
“This year’s audit results show the City’s financial team continues to produce exceptional work for our community. We also commend the collective efforts of all City departments and their dedicated staff who are critical to the overall audit,” said Interim City Manager Cary Westin. “Special recognition goes to Chief Financial Officer Robert Cortinas and City Comptroller Margarita Marin, along with her team, for their exceptional work in ensuring the City maintains proper policies and procedures over accounting and financial reporting. Together, we continue to build a financially sound and sustainable future for the City of El Paso.”
