There were 110 Asian students enrolled in Ysleta ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.8% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Ysleta ISD schools welcomed 37,244 students during the 2021-22 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.3% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Ysleta ISD roughly covers schools within El Paso County and has a main office in El Paso.

Among the 54 schools in Ysleta ISD schools, Parkland High School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2021-22 school year, with a total of 11 students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
