San Elizario ISD Education: 3,193 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 3,193 students enrolled in San Elizario ISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, a slight increase compared to the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.3% of them were boys, and 48.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 99.2% of the San Elizario ISD total enrollment.

San Elizario ISD roughly covers schools within El Paso County with its main office in San Elizario.

Among the six schools in San Elizario ISD, San Elizario High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,033 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
