Texas Gov. Greg Abbott joined the celebration of Charter Communications’ new Spectrum Gran Vista Call Center this week at a grand opening in El Paso, with the facility expected to create more than 900 jobs and support in excess of 31 million customers, contributing to the state’s continued economic growth.
According to a news release from Abbott’s office, the new call center will also boost Spectrum’s bilingual customer service support provided over the phone.
“Texas' exceptional economic climate is fueled by reasonable regulations, lower taxes and a highly skilled, diverse workforce,” Abbott said in the news release. “I am proud to be here today at Charter's Spectrum Gran Vista Call Center grand opening ceremony to celebrate Texas' continued economic growth. Together, we are keeping Texas the best state for business and economic opportunity in America."
Abbott was joined at the celebration by El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser, El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego, Charter Communications Vice President of Communications Anabel Chaves and a number of others, according to the news release from Abbott’s office.
According to a KFOX 14 TV report, the facility will cover 60,000 square feet and employ more than 900 in the city. The report added that it will provide billing, customer education support and troubleshooting to more than 31 million customers while also offering bilingual customer service over the phone for TV, repair services and help for self-installation.
Abbott noted in the release from his office that more Texans are now receiving a paycheck than ever before as a result of companies like Charter Communications that are investing in the Lone Star State.
