1.5 percent of The University of Texas at El Paso students played sports on university teams in 2017-2018

In 2017-2018, 1.5 percent of The University of Texas at El Paso students participated in collegiate sports, according to data made available by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).

The University of Texas at El Paso has 21,464 undergraduate students, of which 53 percent are women and 47 percent are men, and a total student body of 25,151 students. Of these students, 227 men and 160 women represented the school by participating in one or more of the sports with teams at the school.

This total does not include students playing intramural sports.

According to NCES, 8.7 percent of students enrolled at institutions of higher education with sports teams were on teams.

The sports at The University of Texas at El Paso with the most participants are football (136), all track combined (117) and basketball (32).
