The U.S. Department of Labor’s Indian and Native American Programs is providing more than $800,000 in workforce grants for the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo Tribe in El Paso.
According to a press release, the Tribe will receive awards of $787,926 to fund adult training programs and $17,243 for youth training programs.
“As our nation’s economy adapts to the realities of the 21st century, it is vital we provide all Americans with the proper training and knowledge to ensure they have the tools to succeed," Rep. Will Hurd (R-Texas) said. "These grants through the Department of Labor’s Indian and Native American Program will provide substantial resources for the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo people to receive skills training through quality programs. Even more, young people are the future of the American workforce, and we must prepare them for life and the chance to move up the ladder of success in our country as well.”
