The City of El Paso has created a partnership to lead the fight against COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Enhanced Regional Public Health Partnership features a combination of public- and private-sector partners and health care providers teaming with an international partner. The funding will be provided through private donations as the partners work to bolster the area's ability to manage the coronavirus, KTSM reported.
The international partner is Battelle, which has been heavily involved in the fight against the coronavirus. It has worked with the State of Ohio previously.
Through the partnership, hospitals, clinics, research centers in addition health departments, foundations and businesses will be able to have its leaders come together and develop symmetry in working together for the community.
In addition, Battelle offers an array of services that include lab work vaccines and its new personal protective equipment, according to the KTSM report. An economic task force has also been developed to develop strategies to reopen the city safely.
