Rep. Veronica Escobar, U.S. Representative for Texas’s 16th congressional district, posted a series of tweets on November 6, 2025, reflecting on the legacy of Speaker Nancy Pelosi as she steps away from public office.

In her first post, Escobar wrote, “Speaker Pelosi has been the most consequential leader of our time, a history maker, and pillar of unmatched strength, strategy, and brilliance.” (November 6, 2025).

She continued in a subsequent tweet: “Throughout her decades of service, she has guided our nation through some of its darkest hours and championed transformative legislation that will shape the lives of Americans for generations to come.” (November 6, 2025).

Escobar concluded her remarks by stating: “It is one of the greatest honors of my career not just to have served alongside her, but to have learned so much from her.

As she steps away from public office, we celebrate a legacy defined by grace, grit, and a profound love of country.” (November 6, 2025).

Veronica Escobar has represented Texas’s 16th congressional district since winning the seat in 2018. She secured re-election in subsequent cycles against Irene Armendariz-Jackson in both the 2020 and 2022 general elections with significant margins—winning approximately 64.7% in 2020 and about 63.5% in 2022—and again prevailed over Armendariz-Jackson in the 2024 election with nearly 59.5% of the vote. In her initial victory in 2018 against Rick Seeberger, Escobar won with roughly two-thirds support.

Nancy Pelosi’s tenure as Speaker included major legislative initiatives and navigating periods of national challenge. As Escobar’s statements indicate, Pelosi’s influence continues to be recognized among members who served alongside her.
