ICE arrests registered sex offender for immigration violations in Massachusetts

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations in New England has arrested Victor Vasquez Cordova, an El Salvadorian national. Cordova, a Level 1 registered sex offender, was previously convicted for possession of child sexual abuse material.

The arrest took place on July 10 at Cordova’s residence in Everett, Massachusetts. ICE HSI personnel worked with the U.S. Marshals Service to carry out the arrest due to immigration violations.

Cordova entered the United States as a lawful permanent resident on December 18, 1983. On March 31, 2022, he was convicted of possessing child pornography and sentenced to 18 months’ probation. He was also required to register as a sex offender.

Currently, Cordova is being held in ICE custody and will await a hearing before an immigration judge.
