U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations in Philadelphia, working with Homeland Security Investigations Allentown and the Drug Enforcement Administration Allentown, have arrested Yobani Bonilla-Bonilla, also known as Gilberto Perez-Alvarado. The 29-year-old Honduran citizen was apprehended in Easton, Pennsylvania on June 14. Bonilla is wanted in Honduras for homicide under the alias Gilberto Perez-Alvarado.

Bonilla had previously been arrested by the Wilson Borough Police Department in Wilson, Pennsylvania for driving under the influence.

“ICE Philadelphia remains steadfast in our mission to protect public safety by apprehending and removing individuals who pose a threat to our communities,” stated ERO Philadelphia acting Field Office Director Brian McShane. “We will not allow foreign, violent actors to find sanctuary in the U.S. We will find them and remove them so that they cannot harm the citizens of this country.”

The U.S. Border Patrol initially arrested Bonilla near Hidalgo, Texas on June 9, 2015, after he entered the U.S. without proper admission or parole from an immigration officer. He was served with a Notice and Order of Expedited Removal due to inadmissibility under section 212 of the Immigration and Nationality Act. Subsequently, ERO San Antonio removed him from the U.S. back to Honduras on June 15, 2015.

On January 4, 2016, a court in Honduras issued an arrest warrant for Bonilla related to homicide charges.

Bonilla unlawfully reentered the United States at an unspecified time and location without admission or parole from an immigration officer.

On September 13, 2024, he was again arrested by Wilson Borough Police Department for driving under the influence; these charges are still pending.

Bonilla will remain in ICE custody awaiting prosecution for unlawful reentry and his removal from the United States.
