U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), in collaboration with the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted a focused enforcement operation in Huntsville, Alabama. This operation targeted illegal aliens with criminal backgrounds, resulting in the arrest of 13 individuals on March 25.
Among those apprehended, eight had previously been deported from the United States and were facing federal charges for illegal reentry. The United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Alabama is prosecuting these cases.
Charges among the arrested individuals include domestic violence, narcotics trafficking, property crime, and driving while intoxicated. ICE emphasizes its commitment to implementing effective immigration enforcement strategies to enhance the safety of U.S. communities and uphold the nation’s immigration laws. The agency underscores that unauthorized entry into the United States violates federal law, potentially leading to administrative arrests or criminal prosecution.
The public is encouraged to report any crimes or suspicious activity by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE (866-347-2423) or using the online tip form. Additional information about ICE’s efforts to bolster public safety is available on their social media platform: @HSIAtlanta.
