He stated that if Walz disagrees with current laws, he should advocate for change through Congress rather than endangering ICE officers with such comparisons.
The acting director highlighted an increase in assaults against ICE officers, noting a rise of over 400% compared to the previous year. He attributed part of this increase to rhetoric from politicians like Governor Walz. Lyons concluded by calling for an apology from Walz to the men and women serving in law enforcement.
